BRUCE FAWCETT
February 21, 1930 – October 10, 2015
Passed away peacefully at Scarborough Grace Hospital in his 86th year, with family by his side. Devoted husband of Marjorie (nee Edgeler) and beloved father of Brenda (Mike) and Paul, deceased in childhood. Lovingly remembered by his sister Audrey, sister-in-law Evelyn, and long-time friends Rae and Helle. Bruce will be fondly remembered by his many nieces and nephews, neighbours and their children.
As a 31-year veteran of Bell Canada, Bruce spent the last 16 years of his career as the resident installer at Sunnybrook Hospital. Bruce was an avid gardener and craftsman, and always ready with a witty quip. After retiring in 1987, Bruce returned to his love of wood carving, and as a member of the Ontario Woodcarvers Association created award-winning wildlife art.
A memorial service to celebrate Bruce’s life will be held Saturday, October 17th at the Church of St. Andrew Scarborough (2333 Victoria Park Avenue). A gathering of friends and family at 12:30 pm will precede the service at 1:30 pm. Reception to follow. Interment to take place at a later date.
Preferred charities for donations would be Sunnybrook’s Odette Cancer Centre, or Bird Studies Canada.
