On March 3rd at 2:15 am, our dearest Davey Rochester lost his battle to cancer. Davey was diagnosed with Adult T Cell Leukemia Lymphoma stage 4 in October 2015. He fought like a brave warrior for 4 months. Davey is survived by his mother Hyacinth Rochester( Linstead Jamaica), his spouse Krista Gear( Toronto) and his 4 children Dechia Gear, Keyana Gear, Nahmya Rochester and Daveya Rochester. Predeceased by his father Erick Rochester of Linstead Jamaica.

As a child Davey had a mind of his own. He was a very thorough person and always paid attention to detail. He always knew what he wanted and he went after it. He was extremely ambitious. Davey spent 4 years at UTech in Jamaica and then came to Toronto via scholarship to continue his education and went on to become an engineer. Davey brought joy, love and laughter to the hearts of all who had the pleasure of meeting him. He was a no nonsense kind of guy. If he thought it, you knew it. There was no guessing with him. He was honest, blunt and always kept it real. Davey was jovial and had a sense of humour like no other. His smile lit up a room. They really broke the mould with Davey. There is no other like him.

As an adult Davey was a devoted partner and father. He loved his family fiercely and took such good care of them. He was an amazing father to all of his children. Devoted and present at all times. His children just adored him beyond measure. He was loving and playful. He was a hard worker and and good provider. He was a cherished friend. He was there any time one of his friends needed anything. His friends came to lean on him and valued his advice.

No words can really express the gravity of loss the world, not just our family but the world has felt by Davey's death.

Davey's fight has brought strangers together and turned them into family. United together for one cause. To save Davey's live and subsequent others that may face the same fight one day. We weren't able to save Davey's life, but we will never let his death be in vein. We will continue to fight in his name and bring awareness to this crisis. May his life serve to save others.

If you are interested in helping the family pay for some of the funeral costs, you can donate to www.gofundme.com/daveysfund
